What happens if the community inheritor fails to complete the community ownership transfer process?
When the old community owner passes away and he/she has previously appointed someone to be the community inheritor, the community inheritor will have the opportunity to legitimize his/her change of role by completing the process of transferring community ownership. He/she will have 14 days to do so under the following conditions:
- If within 5 days the community inheritor has not completed the process of transferring community ownership, then Collanity will provide an opportunity for community organizers to take over.
- If within the next 3 days, neither the community inheritors nor the community organizers have been able to complete the process of transferring community ownership, then Collanity will provide an opportunity for admins and community managers to take over.
- If within the next 3 days neither the community inheritors, community organizers, nor community admins and managers have been able to complete the process of transferring community ownership, then Collanity will provide an opportunity for community members to take over.
- In a situation where more than 1 person gets the chance to take over, the fastest person to complete the process will become the next community owner.
- If after 14 days no one has successfully completed the process of transferring community ownership, then the community will be deleted the next day.
In this process, the community inheritor will need a community subscription that is the same or is above the subscription currently used by the community. If he/she has a subscription that is below that of the community, then he/she will need to upgrade by subscribing to the community's subscription plan.
